back into the western winter wonderland

The drive back to California took me through all kinds of terrible weather. On the 2nd, I had to battle a fierce 60 mph crosswind coming back through Wyoming. Then I got into a big rainy mess in Utah, and had to battle huge spray clouds thrown up by the big trucks. Continuous heavy rain prevented me from getting much further west than Elko NV. It was still raining when I left Elko on the 3rd - and continued to rain all the way back to the California state line. But once I got atop Donner Summit in California.....

...Yay! It's snowing!!!! Umm...it's June. Yep. Only the 10th time in the past 12 years we've seen snow in these parts this late in the year. You can read more about my adventures this particular day here.
