No storms were expected anywhere today. The central and southern Plains were expected to be heavily capped and well south of the jet stream for the rest of the week, so it was time to head north. We figured Grand Island NE would be a good central location for chase possibilities later in the week, so we made the drive there from Enid OK today. Grand Island had seen quite a bit of rain earlier in the week, which made the farmers happy. Lauren did not exactly share their enthusiasm, as he took a nasty spill into a mud puddle while playing frisbee in a field behind our hotel. Fortunately he was not hurt, although he did look a little like these kids after the fall. :-)
